Account Information

When you sign up through Google OAuth (powered by Clerk), we collect your email address and basic profile information (name and profile picture) as provided by Google.

Monitoring Data

We collect and store the keywords and topics you choose to monitor, along with the web mentions our system discovers for those keywords. This includes the source URL, page title, snippet text, and publication date of each mention.

Usage Data

We automatically collect standard usage information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This helps us maintain and improve the service.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details on our servers. We receive only a record of your subscription status, plan type, and billing history from Stripe.

To generate AI-powered summaries and analysis of your mentions
To send you email notifications about new mentions (configurable in your settings)

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate MentionDrop:

4. Cookies

MentionDrop uses only essential cookies required for authentication. Specifically, Clerk sets session cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.

5. Data Retention

Web mention data is retained based on your subscription plan:

Free plan: 7 days
Starter plan: 30 days
Pro plan: 90 days

After the retention period, mention data is automatically deleted. Your account information (email, keywords) is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS/SSL), secure database access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Export your data in a portable format
Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
